Protection from the sun is necessary all year long, so it is an essential part of any beauty routine. However, it is often overlooked. There are many reasons to wear SPF from preventing skin cancer to preventing wrinkles but many people, especially in cooler months, neglect this important step. An easy way to make sure you stay protected is to choose a moisturizer with protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Combining two products into one makes things more convenient and can even save you money. There are some great affordable moisturizing products out there that will keep your skin hydrated and safer from the suns rays. It’s important to check the labels though and make sure that both UVA and UVB protection are provided. You’ll also want something with SPF 30 for maximum protection. Dermatologists generally agree that anything higher doesn’t offer much additional protection but anything lower isn’t enough. Here are some of my favorite products that offer all the protection you’ll need:

$11.50 with online coupon at drugstore.com

  • Aveeno’s ‘Positively Radiant’ moisturizer contains SPF 30, protects against UVA/UVB rays, reflects light to even out and brighten skin tone, is hypoallergenic, does not clog pores, is oil free and utilizes naturally moisturizing ingredients like soy.

$8 at Target

  • Eucerin’s ‘Everyday Protection’ moisturizer really does protect skin with SPF 30 against both UVA and UVB rays. It is dermatologist recommended and recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation. It doesn’t clog pores and it’s safe for sensitive skin.

$6 at Vitacost.com

  • This Alba Botanica sunscreen, made especially for the face, also moisturizes. It’s really cool for several reasons: it is all natural and %100 vegetarian, it is oil and paraben free, it won’t clog pores, its SPF 30 protection against UVA/UVB protection is water resistant and it has amazing ingredients which really benefit the skin. The Green Tea and Vitamin E nourish while  the Aloe Vera and Chamomile moisturize. Did I mention it’s safe for sensitive skin?
